Immortal Travel of Longevity

Chapter 488: Chen the Bad Human, Liar

Chapter 488: Chen the Bad Human, Liar

Chen Changsheng tucked that flower into his sleeve. He looked left and right, then headed to the next place. But the Cultivation World was vast. He couldn’t just walk and search the whole way. Most times, he asked people for directions. Any bit of news about Evil Spirits, he wouldn’t let slip past him.

See one, catch one.

He would capture enough of them someday.

Chen Changsheng asked Xiao’er. He asked Rogue Cultivators he met on the road. He asked Immortal Sect disciples on the Sky Skiff. He asked all kinds of people. Most times, he’d find traces of Evil Spirits. But sometimes he hit a wall. Some people didn’t even want to talk to him. This happened often; he was used to it.

After days of walking, Chen Changsheng found many Evil Spirits one after another. His gains were pretty good.

Slowly, he understood.

This region was called Tianfu. It was much bigger than Qingyuan. The reason Evil Spirits often appeared here was probably because there weren’t many Immortal Sects.

Maybe Tianfu didn’t have strong Spiritual Energy. That was why few Immortal Sects set up their mountains here. With fewer threats around, these Evil Spirits got more reckless. They settled down and made this place their home.

This was a good thing for Chen Changsheng.

Saved time. Saved trouble.

Chen Changsheng glanced at the several new flowers in his sleeve. Four flowers… Still a long way to go.

“The path is long and tough…”

Chen Changsheng mumbled to himself, then kept walking.

He hoped this place would give him more pleasant surprises.

Cloudtop Manor, Immortal Island in the Sky.

The Tabby Cat played with its own tail.

The Black Dog was lying down asleep as usual. Actually, it was recovering from its wounds. All these years had passed, yet the power of the Heavenly Might still hadn’t completely faded.

“Tsk…”

A sharp pain stabbed the Black Dog’s back. Its brow furrowed tightly.

Jian Shenghua suddenly walked out from behind it. “Your wounds still haven’t healed?”

The Black Dog hesitated. “Almost there.”

Jian Shenghua thought this was odd. “Two years ago, my wounds were fully healed. You’re a divine beast; shouldn’t you take in Spiritual Energy faster than any human? Why are you slower than me?”

Mo Yu glanced at him, then turned its gaze to the playing Tabby Cat nearby.

Jian Shenghua paused, then understood. “Ah, I see.”

Mo Yu gave a dry laugh. “Surviving was already good luck.”

Jian Shenghua nodded. Mo Yu was right. That Heavenly Tribulation from before had extraordinary power. Those who could endure even one strike were no ordinary folk—let alone enduring two.

Jian Shenghua thought for a moment. “Why not ask Miss Manyue to help?”

The Black Dog shook its head. It seemed unwilling to ask others for help.

Perhaps it didn’t want to owe too much.

Just like the Spirit Gathering Array outside Cloudtop Manor.

That was also Mo Yu repaying Chen Changsheng.

Seeing it stay silent, Jian Shenghua understood and didn’t press further. Someone who cared so much about owing others is hard to persuade, no matter the reason.

“Mo Yu! Mo Yu!”

The Tabby Cat ran over.

Mo Yu looked at it. Then the Tabby Cat asked, “When will Good Human Chen come back?”

Mo Yu thought. “Not sure. Probably soon. Why?”

“It’s so boring here.”

The Tabby Cat said, “I want to go out and play.”

It sounded pretty unhappy.

Cloudtop Manor was peaceful. Relaxing. But after staying a few days and seeing everything clearly, it felt… dull.

Mo Yu patted the Tabby Cat’s head with a paw. “Don’t forget about Good Human Chen. When I’m all better, I’ll take you out to play.”

“Really?”

“Of course. When have I ever lied to you?”

“When will Mo Yu be better?”

“Probably soon.”

“Can Lihua make Mo Yu better faster?”

Mo Yu thought for a second. “If Lihua blows on it for me… that might heal me faster.”

“Okay!”

Lihua blew air near Mo Yu.

“Woo, woo, woo,” Lihua breathed out softly, silently willing Mo Yu to heal quickly.

Jian Shenghua smiled seeing this. Still as close as ever. He even felt a little jealous.

On another day later.

Mo Yu was lying on the island, sleeping. Also healing.

Suddenly, a beam of Golden Light flew out from a big tree behind it. The light landed right between Mo Yu’s eyes.

Mo Yu snapped awake, startled.

It quickly began its healing technique, using the Golden Light to mend its wounds.

Within moments, the remaining half of its injuries… shrank by another fifth.

Mo Yu came back to its senses. Jian Shenghua walked out, holding Lihua.

Mo Yu looked toward the source of the Golden Light, then at Jian Shenghua. “Did you ask her for me?”

Jian Shenghua shook his head. “Not me. Lihua pleaded for you with Miss Manyue. It went to see her. Asked when your wounds would heal.”

The Tabby Cat in his arms made a noise. “Mo Yu is a liar! Blowing on it doesn’t heal wounds at all! If Sister Manyue hadn’t told me, Lihua would have kept blowing for Mo Yu! Liar!”

Mo Yu coughed dryly twice. No good explanation came to mind.

The Tabby Cat sniffed lightly. “Aren’t you gonna thank Lihua?”

Seeing it pouting like that, Mo Yu couldn’t help but laugh. “Thank you, Lihua.”

“Hehe!”

The Tabby Cat looked very proud.

Mo Yu saw it come close. It patted Lihua’s head with a paw.

“Silly.”

“Hmph~”

Lihua rolled its eyes and stopped talking.

Jian Shenghua smiled, looking at Mo Yu. “There it is. You didn’t want to owe anything. But now someone owes on your behalf.”

“It has to be repaid eventually.” Mo Yu said, “Lihua’s debts are my debts too.”

Jian Shenghua said, “Lihua is so silly—does it even need repaying?”

Mo Yu fell quiet. It knew in its heart clearly.

It was also very grateful to that Miss Manyue.

Life in the Sky Manor passed swiftly. Peaceful. Mostly quiet.

Except for one restless Tabby Cat.

Chen Changsheng leaving and returning this time took over twenty days. For Mo Yu, it felt like just a blink.

“Back already?”

“Good Human Chen! You’re back! Take Lihua out to play!”

Chen Changsheng looked at them both. “Just stopping by. Need to leave again soon. Nothing troubling you lately?”

Mo Yu said, “Nothing important. No one found this place.”

“That’s good.”

Chen Changsheng said, “I bought some Formation Flags in the Cultivation World. Came back to reinforce the arrays here too.”

“That’s a good idea.” Mo Yu nodded.

“What about Lihua? Why ignore Lihua?”

Chen Changsheng smiled. “Next time. Next time I’ll take you out, Lihua.”

“When is next time?”

“Next time I’m back here.”

“That shouldn’t be long…”

Chen Changsheng was in and out quickly this time. Only different thing: nine small new flowers bloomed on the big tree at Cloudtop Manor. And another layer of illusion array appeared outside.

Less than an hour later, Chen Changsheng was gone again.

Lihua thought Chen Changsheng would be gone just ten-something days again, like this trip. Eagerly watching the horizon, waiting for Good Human Chen to return. To take it out to play.

But quite a while passed. A long, long time. Chen Changsheng never came back.

Lihua became very unhappy. It threw a big fit over it.

“Chen the bad human!”

“Liar!”
