Chapter 350: Return
Chapter 350: Return
Li Wei extended his right hand, controlling the True Dharma Ring.
He used the Power of the True Dharma Ring to construct a box and contain the Poison Dragon Pouch.
He seemed to understand Torresta’s intentions once again.
The True Dharma Ring’s most important ability was materialization.
It could further enhance the realism of Li Wei’s Illusion Objects.
As Li Wei constructed layer after layer of boxes to seal away the Poison Dragon Pouch, the toxic power radiating from it steadily weakened.
Li Wei continuously absorbed the energy from the Fire Spirit Pearl Necklace.
Finally, after constructing three hundred and sixty layers of boxes, he had completely sealed the Poison Dragon Pouch’s toxicity.
It took an hour.
He breathed a sigh of relief.
Lilith’s voice reached him. "Are you done yet? My Mana is almost gone."
Li Wei flew over to the three-hundred-and-sixty-layer nesting box that held the Poison Dragon Pouch.
He stored the box in a separate Spatial Ring.
This Spatial Ring already held the Secret Silver Box with the Poison Dragon Saliva.
Li Wei couldn’t risk having the potent toxins from the Poison Dragon Saliva and the Poison Dragon Pouch contaminate his other belongings.
If he accidentally contaminated his Secret Medicines or food, one bite would likely kill him on the spot.
It was safer to store them in a separate Spatial Ring.
Li Wei replied to Lilith, "Done."
He turned and quickly flew toward Alice and the others.
"Li Wei’s back! Let’s retreat!"
Kristiman shouted as soon as he saw Li Wei return.
On their front line, it was paradoxically the weakest member, Kristiman, who had become the main force against the poisonous leeches.
Kristiman whipped up a fierce wind, blowing the poisonous leeches away.
The poisonous leeches couldn’t get close.
Neither Alice’s nor Evelyn’s Plant Magic was effective against the poisonous leeches.
The leeches’ toxins easily corroded their Magical Creatures.
Against the poisonous leeches, which had extremely high Magic Resistance, Bella’s lightning was even less effective than the fierce wind.
"Retreat!"
Li Wei landed before the group and yelled.
"You go on ahead! I’ll hold them off."
Kristiman yelled.
’What a rare opportunity to hold the rear and be the hero for once!’
Kristiman was thrilled, his face a mask of tension and excitement.
After Li Wei landed, a dark shadow materialized beside him.
Lilith was back, too.
Li Wei glanced at Kristiman. Seeing that he could hold off the poisonous leeches by himself, he quickly ran toward the cavern entrance they had come through.
Once he saw that everyone had left, Kristiman planted a Galebloom seed in the ground.
"Howl! Bring your gales unto the world!"
Spurred on by Kristiman’s Power, the Galebloom seed grew rapidly.
In the blink of an eye, it transformed into a giant, pinwheel-like flower.
The flower began to spin rapidly,
unleashing a fierce wind that sent countless poisonous leeches flying.
Kristiman seized the opportunity and quickly caught up with Li Wei’s group.
Li Wei, Alice, and the others only went a short distance before stopping to wait for Kristiman.
Seeing him return safely, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"Glad you’re all right," Li Wei said.
"Let’s keep looking for the exit," Bella urged.
Kristiman shot Bella a resentful glare.
’At least Li Wei knows how to show a little concern. All you do is order me around.’
’No wonder nobody likes you!’
Still, Kristiman didn’t complain out loud.
Once the group was out of danger, he wasted no time in activating the Windflower again to search for an exit leading out of the Poison Dragon Cave’s third level.
The trail of the wind spread throughout the Poison Dragon Cave.
Finally, it brought back good news.
Kristiman’s eyes lit up. "I’ve found it," he said.
Bella asked skeptically, "It’s not another dangerous area, is it?"
Kristiman decided to ignore her.
’All this woman does is bring people down.’
He said, "This time, it should be the real exit. I can feel fresh air from the outside."
"Drink a Mana Recovery Potion to restore some of your Mana. We’ll set off in a moment."
Li Wei handed Kristiman a Mana Recovery Potion.
Inside the Poison Dragon Cave, they could only rely on external items to restore their Mana.
They couldn’t directly absorb the Magic Elements inside the cave.
Doing so risked being poisoned during meditation.
The poison was everywhere.
The Poison Dragon Cave was suffused with residual Poison Elements from the dead Wind Poison Dragon.
If someone accidentally absorbed the Poison Element and couldn’t neutralize it, getting poisoned would be the mildest consequence.
After waiting for Kristiman to recover some Mana, the group set off again.
Under Kristiman’s guidance, the group left the third level of the Poison Dragon Cave without further incident.
Li Wei glanced back down.
Behind them, a deep chasm led into the bowels of the earth.
White and green toxic mists continuously billowed up from below.
They had left the third level and were back on the second level of the Poison Dragon Cave.
The rest of the journey was much smoother.
In less than half a day, the group had exited the Poison Dragon Cave and returned to the surface.
"Should we head to Poison Dragon City to rest up first? Or go straight to Flying Flower City?"
Evelyn asked.
Alice said, "Let’s rest for a bit. We’ll set out again after we’ve recovered our strength."
Li Wei said, "In that case, we won’t be joining you. The commission is complete, and it’s time for us to head back."
Alice was surprised. "Oh, you’re leaving already?"
Li Wei nodded. "Yes, I have some other things to attend to."
Not long ago, he’d had an epiphany regarding a Mystical Technique.
He was anxious to return to his Cultivation, break through to Tier Four, and master the Mystical Technique.
He couldn’t be bothered to go with Alice and her group to Flying Flower City to deal with Kira.
Seeing this, Evelyn stepped forward and said, "In that case, I wish you a safe journey. I will report to the Mage Association as soon as possible that you have completed the mission."
"Goodbye, then," Li Wei said, waving.
"Goodbye. Hope to see you again," Alice said, bidding him farewell as well.
Alice’s group of four headed toward Poison Dragon City.
Li Wei and Lilith turned and walked in the direction of Maple City.
He looked at Lilith and asked, "How much of your Mana have you recovered?"
Lilith replied, "Forty percent."
"Let’s go."
The two of them hurried back toward Maple City, each using their own methods.
Traveling at full speed, they made it back to Maple City in just half a day.
By the time Li Wei reached the gates of Maple City, it was already night.
He set Lilith down.
Lilith’s Mana still hadn’t fully recovered, so Li Wei had carried her while flying for the latter half of the journey.
Thanks to the Fire Spirit Pearl Necklace, Li Wei’s magical endurance was incredible.
Lilith, however, lacked that kind of endurance.
Li Wei said, "I need to make a stop at the Mage Tower before I head back to the Elemental Tower."
Lilith nodded. "Okay, I’ll go to the Mage Association and wait for you there."
After parting ways with Lilith, Li Wei headed straight for the Mage Tower.
He arrived at the Sixth Floor of the Mage Tower.
"Master, I have returned."
Torresta was in the same semi-transparent state as last time.
"Oh. Did you get the Wind Poison Dragon’s Poison Dragon Pouch?"
Li Wei took out the box. "I brought it back."
"Mm, very good."
"Master, what do you need this for?" Li Wei asked, confused.
Torresta replied, "It is not I who needs it, but you. Take it to the Elemental Tower, and you will understand."
A look of surprise crossed Li Wei’s face.
"Master, what do you mean by that?"
