Chapter 1845 - 836: Miracle and Price_6
After he finished speaking, a Priest came over to his side.
"Lord Rod, please come with me."
Led by him, Rod left the Holy Fire Sacrificial Ground and came to an extremely luxurious palace not far away, but what was even more luxurious than the palace were the people inside it: at least more than a hundred beautiful maids were waiting for him here.
"Lord Rod, this is your residence. I am fully in charge of it. If you have any needs, please tell me."
With that, the Priest bowed and left.
The maids immediately surged forward. Before Rod could say anything, his dust-covered clothes had already been stripped off. Hot water was brought, soft towels and tender little hands scrubbed the grime from his body, not even the tiniest crevice was spared, and at the same time, fragrant food was sent into his mouth.
In this near-perfect service, Rod quickly felt drowsy. The fatigue of the past several days surged over him like a tide and soon dragged him into a deep sleep.
But it was not a good sleep. Rod was jolted awake by violent booming. He leapt up from the bed and, without even putting on clothes, jumped out of the palace.
He saw that in the night sky above the Saint Longde Royal City, flames made it as bright as day, powerful Spiritual Energy ripples swept across the heavens, and the huge Spiritual Protection that covered the entire Royal City had already been activated. Countless warriors were fighting Black Fog Symbionts outside the formation.
Rod immediately spotted Rhein; his Steel Fire was the brightest thing in the night sky.
And then there was that loincloth guy—he had turned into a gigantic meat projectile, slamming all over the sky. Every Black Fog Symbiont he hit would be smashed into pieces.
There was also the Shadow Hunter Yudora, the Giant Slayer Gavin, the Light of Destruction Joe, the Spirit Blade little Eileen, and the long-legged, massively-busted Philom. Their battles were dazzling as well.
These six Elite Knights of the Divine Fire Church, plus Rhein—these seven were the main force in this battle.
However, the pressure was still enormous.
The number of Black Fog Symbionts assaulting Saint Longde was immense; the entire sky was densely packed with them. At a glance, there were at least several hundred thousand.
The most terrifying part was that these Black Fog Symbionts were still continuously increasing; the darkness was pressing down toward the Royal City.
Through the Eye of the Soul, Rod saw it in an instant.
In the depths of the darkness, there were hundreds of spherical monsters constantly spitting out Black Fog Symbionts.
Their size was not large, only a few hundred yards, but each breath they spat out could produce hundreds of Black Fog Symbionts, and it went on and on like a bottomless pit.
There was no doubt that these spherical monsters were the Source of this assault.
Without hesitation, Rod stretched out his right hand, pinched toward the spherical monsters.
[Destruction Sphere]
Bang!
With a muffled, formless thud, one sphere was crushed and burst, uncountable black substance scattering through the sky, only to quickly evaporate under the flames.
No soul—derivatives.
Without mercy, Rod pinched madly. One sphere after another exploded in succession.
Very soon, the hundreds of spherical monsters were all crushed by him.
Without these spherical monsters, the Black Fog Symbionts were quickly slaughtered to the last.
Flames once again roared into the sky, forcing the Black Fog far back.
Rhein had originally been flying toward the Holy Fire Sacrificial Ground, but all of a sudden he changed direction in midair and came to Rod’s side.
"Lord Rod, was that you? Were you the one who just aided us?"
"Wow!"
The blue-haired woman beside him shouted.
"Nude fighting, I like it!"
Rod felt extremely awkward and immediately used Spiritual Energy to conceal his body, but everyone here could see through it, so it was no different from being naked.
The doll-like little Eileen stared at the important part the whole time. "So big. Why don’t I have one?"
The blue-haired woman covered her eyes, but her own eyes were opened wide. "Nice, so moist, so sweet, looks delicious!"
"Shut up!"
Rhein barked, tearing off his own clothes and putting them on Rod.
"Lord Rod didn’t even put on clothes in order to aid us—how can you take advantage of him at a time like this? Hurry up and apologize to Lord Rod."
The blue-haired woman laughed. "Fine, fine, don’t be mad, Captain."
She tugged down her collar and was about to bow in apology, but Rhein instantly stopped her.
"What are you doing now?" he shouted angrily.
The blue-haired woman giggled. "Isn’t it perfectly normal to show your boobs when apologizing?"
Little Eileen pried her hand away, staring with big round eyes and asking curiously, "Is there really something like that?"
Rhein’s face flushed bright red; he looked like he was going to explode any second.
Just then, the Great Shepherd Leader’s voice sounded in the air again.
"Everyone, return to your combat posts. Raise the alert level to the highest."
"Rhein, Lord Rod, please come to the Seniel Throne."
Only then did everyone disperse reluctantly.
——
——
When he returned to the Flesh Throne again, Rod noticed that after a brief rest, the Great Shepherd Leader’s spirit had returned to normal.
"This assault was no accident."
Rhein’s body trembled. "You mean—?"
"Yes. The Prophetic City has already confirmed it: it’s related to Trolian. We just don’t know if it’s the Teleportation Gate, or our previous conversation, or both."
Rhein said anxiously, "How could this happen? The protection level of the Seniel Throne is the same as the Holy Fire. If even this can trigger Source feedback, then there’s no safe place left in this world."
Rod asked doubtfully, "What’s going on? Was this assault that unusual?"
Rhein took a deep breath and explained, "The Royal City has special early warning and protection. For an attack of this scale, there’s no way we wouldn’t know in advance, but it just appeared out of nowhere and caught us completely off guard. Our main forces aren’t even within Saint Longde’s borders; the battles at the Fallen Ship, the Endless Sea, and the Dead Zone are still not over."
"Of course."
He added specifically.
"There is also a portion that went to aid Trolian, but it’s not that much, it won’t affect the Royal City. Our warriors will be back very soon."
Rod was moved. The combat strength sent to aid Trolian was definitely not small; even for Saint Longde, it wasn’t without impact.
If the Dragon Slayer Romano and his Execution Team, plus those several thousand warriors, were here, this battle would absolutely be under no pressure at all.
He was saying it like this on purpose, because he was afraid Rod would feel psychologically burdened.
But the Great Shepherd Leader merely shook his head slightly and said, "No, I’m not calling them back. Lord Rod possesses a miraculous power that can help us resolve this catastrophe."
Rhein was also very surprised. "Lord Rod, how did you do it exactly?"
Rod explained, "I have an ability: anything that’s spherical, I can directly destroy. And the Source of this assault was those moving spherical monsters. They kept spewing out Black Fog Symbionts, which is why the pressure on the battlefield was so great."
This time Rhein was truly shocked.
"What did you say? Th-this... what kind of Source Law is that? How can it be this powerful? Doesn’t it have any limits?"
Rod shook his head. "So far I haven’t found any. As long as the whole thing is a sphere, it’s destroyed outright, without exception. The only difficulty is turning something that isn’t a sphere into a sphere; unless I can completely crush the monster, I can’t do it."
"No, no, this is still unbelievable."
Rhein suddenly turned his head and shouted,
"Great Shepherd Leader, I know Lord Rod is very special, but I never imagined he’d be this special."
"And not only that, there’s also a Source Heavenly God’s Throne in Trolian, and so, so many Lives of Man there, I can’t even count them all!"
"Great Shepherd Leader, let Lord Solos the Ender of All Things return."
